Skiing region with total distance of approximately 30 km with Neustift Village being the centerpiece. Neustift, along with Fulpmes, Mieders, Telfes and Schönberg in the Stubai Valley retain old Tyrolean village atmosphere. The long season the Stubai glacier attracts dedicated skiers.

Top: Fulpmes 2,260 m (7,415 ft); Stubai Glacier 3,200 m (10,502 ft) (Community of Neustift is 20 km long)

Vertical: 1,450 m (4,756 ft)

Longest Run: 10 km (6 mi)

Terrain: Runs in Neustift: 11 red, 21 blue, 9 black; Stubai Glacier offers variety of slopes, more than 110 km (68 mi) of slopes, served by 24 modern lifts

Lifts: 20 in the local areas of Elfer, Schlick, and Serles

Types: 4 gondolas; 2 chair lifts; 14 T-bars

Lift Capacity: 17,000 p/h locally, 36,000 p/h on glacier

Ski Season: Stubai glacier offers skiing from October until May

Cross Country: 40 km connecting track in the Stubai Valley; 40 km high altitude, 5 km on Glacier

Ski School: Olympia and Neustift-Stubaier Gletscher; Skischule Stubai Tirol, Skischule Fulpmes, Alpin Skischule Neustift

Mountain Restaurants: 7 huts on Elfer and Stubai Glacier; also sport/rental shops; 20 on mountain paths

Other Winter Activities: Curling; hiking; ice skating/natural; indoor swimming & tennis; sleigh riding; squash; snowboarding; bowling; tobogganing; horse riding; cross country skiing; folklore evenings; ski touring; paragliding; ice climbing, carving

Child Care: Ski Club Micky Maus daily in the Kindergarten at top station Gamsgarten on the Stubai Glacier, for children from 3 to 12 years; Ronnie's Kinderland in the Schlick 2000 area in Fulpmes

Lodging: Some 12,000 beds in Stubaital

Transportation: Gateway airports: Munich and Innsbruck

Closest Provincial City: Innsbruck (19 mi) bus and train from Munich to Innsbruck-regular daily schedule

By Auto from airport: Innsbruck (15 mi), take Brenner Autobahn to Schönberg/Stubaital turnoff

Ski Bus: From October until May free to all open ski areas of the Stubai Valley

By Train: Munich to Innsbruck on regular schedule (2 hrs.) then bus to Neustift (45 min.); Fulpmes and Telfes have rail connections from Innsbruck

Bus: Regular service, Innsbruck-Neustift
