INNSBRUCK LAND—TYROL

The Olympics in 1964 and 1976 have made the Olympia Region Seefeld a prime destination area for the novice skier and the enthusiastic cross country devotee. Even if you don’t ski, the region is the perfect place to spend a winter vacation. All the things that make a winter day memorable and enjoyable can be found here.

Terrain: Plateau surrounded by mountains-terrain for all levels. 48% beginner, 27% intermediate, 25% advanced

Skiing Circus: Happy Ski Card includes ski areas around the Zugspitze-283 km of ski runs (card is valid at Seefeld ski area Gschwandtkopf) Seefeld Alpin Card is valid at ski resorts Rosshütte/Härmelkopf, Geigenbühel, Birkenlift (all Seefeld), Neuleutasch and Kreithlift (Leutasch)

Transportation: Gateway Airport in Munich (75 mi). Bus or train to Olympia Region Seefeld takes about 2 hrs. There is also an airport in Innsbruck, closest provincial city, 14 miles away.

By auto from Innsbruck airport to Zirl in Olympia Region Seefeld takes 25 min.

Regular train service from Innsbruck (info at 5 17 17)

Buses serve Leutasch, Mösern. Buchen, Reith, Scharnitz from Seefeld on regular schedule

By Ski Bus from airport: 40 minutes from Innsbruck; bus service from Innsbruck on regular schedule

Best Deal: "Crystal Weeks" in early December, January and March.
