Avoriaz, characterized by its unique architecture, is an entirely car-free resort, offering doorstep skiing and first-class snow. It is a gateway to the famous Portes du Soleil ski area, which offers fine skiing in two countries. There are 14 resorts—six in Switzerland eight in France.
