AOSTA VALLEY
Ayas Valley lies in the heart of the Western Alps and is composed of many quaint little villages, including the three ski resorts of Antagnod, Champoluc and Frachey. The glaciers of the Monte Rosa range provide a fine background for one of the most beautiful and popular valleys in the province.
Elevation: Base/Village: 1,587m (5,205 ft); Top: 2.703 m (8,866 ft)
Vertical: 1,116m (3,660 ft)
Terrain: 63km (39 mi) of downhill slopes, well protected with good snow cover. Recommended for beginners-intermediate skiers; 21km beginner, 42km intermediate. Many more slopes and lifts in region known as Monterosa Ski, which includes other valleys. (See also descriptions of Gressoney and LaThuile.
Skiing Circus: The three ski resorts in the Ayas Valley have an interconnected lift system, and can also cross-over to Gressoney-La-Trinité (Monterosa Ski).
