JULIAN ALPS

The highest ski center in Slovenia, Kanin is situated in northwest corner, near the Italian border.

Elevation: Village of Bovec: 483 m (1,584 ft) Top: 2,289 m (7,508 ft)

Vertical: At top snowfields, 700 m (2,296 ft)

Terrain: 17 km (11 mi), half groomed, rest for off-piste skiing. Runs are 10% beginner, 70% intermediate, 10% advanced

Lifts: 1 cable car, four chairlifts, 1 surface lift

Lift Capacity: 5,600 skiers p/h

Ski Season: November to May

Cross Country: 16 km (9 mi)

Ski School: 11 instructors for various disciplines

Mountain Restaurants: Ten

Other Winter Activities: Ice skating, parasailing, hang gliding, sledding, hiking, indoor swimming, gym and fitness centers, sauna

Après-Ski: Dining, disco, billiards, cultural activities, sightseeing
